WORKSHOP OBJECTIVE

Theme and scope of the workshop

The axion is an elegant solution to the strong CP problem in the standard theory of particle physics. At the same time the axion is a compelling candidate of the galactic dark matter along with SUSY WIMP. The main theme of this two-day workshop is to invite leading experimentalists and theorists in the field and closely related areas, and to activate lively discussions on the present status of research and future prospects. We welcome new innovative ideas to widen the horizon of the field. The workshop is open to experts and non-experts alike, in particular young people who wish to start their careers, although the workshop capacity is limited to 100 researchers due to the space of the workshop site.

Topics covered in the workshop

strong CP problem, QCD axion, axion-like particles, other dark matter candidates,
dark matter cosmology, structure formation, direct dark matter search,
new ideas of dark matter search, closely related subjects
